    Itinerary

    Sunday – Llandrindod Wells

We leave from our local departure points and drive south west to the Victorian Spa town of Llandrindod Wells, our base for five nights. Hotel Metropole.

Monday – Thursday – Llandrindod Wells

We tour the picturesque black and white villages, straddling the English/Welsh borders in the company of a local guide. Famed for the old timber-framed buildings, these delightful market villages ooze charm and history. We travel to the Welsh ‘Town of Books’, Hay on Wye, nestled at the top of the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park. Hay on Wye boasts an annual literature festival and boasts over twenty bookshops. A visit will be made to Symonds Yat, a village on the Wye Valley and one of the most iconic and beautiful locations in the Dean Wye. We enjoy a cruise on the River Wye and, following the cruise, we enjoy refreshments before returning to our hotel, via Abergavenny in Monmouthshire. We tour the Cambrian Mountains with a scenic drive around the Elan Dams and spectacular reservoirs, accompanied by a Ranger. Later that day, time will be spent at the seaside resort of Aberystwyth before we board the Vale of Rheidol Railway heritage steam train to Devil’s Bridge. This magnificent, scenic journey will certainly be one of the highlights of the holiday. We allow ample time to enjoy our Victorian Spa town and the facilities of our hotel.

    Friday – Scotland

We return home after a relaxing holiday to a very unspoilt and interesting part of the country.
