We leave from our local departure points and travel by coach to the medieval market town of Stratford-upon-Avon and our host for four nights. Hotel Crowne Plaza.
Our base is Stratford-upon-Avon, a market town with more than 800 years of history, situated on the banks of the River Avon and birthplace of William Shakespeare. We visit The Cotswolds, an area of outstanding natural beauty, where honey-coloured cottages dot the landscape and the Cotswold stone walls punctuate the rolling hills. We tour this quintessentially English region with its pretty towns and ancient churches, visiting Stow-on-the-Wold, a delightful town with a vast market square offering an array of art galleries and craft shops, Bourton-on-the-Water, known as The Venice of the North and regularly voted one of the prettiest villages in England and Broadway, dominated by a wide main street lined with independent shops.
We spend a day at the Malvern Spring Festival, based at the Three Counties Showground. The RHS Malvern Spring Festival is the perfect opportunity to prepare for the upcoming gardening season. Set against the magnificent Malvern Hills, it is packed with flowers and crafts. Enjoy the Floral Marquee, where a host of top UK and international nurseries gather together under one roof.
Our centrally located hotel is ideal for a day at leisure in Stratford-upon-Avon. Why not follow in the Bard’s footsteps or take a relaxing boat trip on the River Avon?
We return to Scotland after a memorable Spring coach holiday.
