Wednesday - P & O Ferries

We leave from our local departure points and drive south to Hull where our ferry awaits for the overnight crossing to Zeebrugge.  Twin low-berth outside cabins.  Dinner and breakfast on board ship.


Thursday - Paris

A short drive brings us to the city of light, Paris, where a comprehensive tour introduces us to the best known landmarks of this magical city; The Opera, The Champs Elysees, The Eiffel Tower and The Cathedral of Notre Dame.  We arrive late afternoon at our hotel for four nights.  Hotel Ibis Gare de Lyon Ledru Rollin.


Friday - Sunday - Paris

Our centrally located hotel allows us the opportunity to experience the delights of this splendid city.  A short walk takes us to the River Seine, where we can stroll along the left bank, visit the many museums or enjoy people watching from a typical Parisian café.  We have included a visit to Monet's Garden in Giverny, where we marvel at the beauty of this idyllic spot.  A visit to historic Fontainebleau, seat of one of the largest French Royal Chateaux and the pretty village of Barbizon are also in our programme.  We have arranged a bed and breakfast package in our hotel, allowing us maximum freedom of choice to sample the many culinary delights Paris has to offer. 


Monday - Ypres

Au revoir to Paris as we drive north to Belgium, Flanders and the poignant Battlefields of WWl.  A century ago a generation of men fought in the trenches of WWl and we visit Sanctuary Wood Museum, with its preserved trenches and rare collection of photographs, weapons and uniforms, close to the iconic Passchendaele Battlefield.  A short drive takes us to our hotel in central Ypres and this evening there is the opportunity to attend the moving Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate Memorial, held at 8pm each evening.  Novotel Ypres Centrum.


Tuesday - Zeebrugge

A short journey takes us to Tyne Cot, the largest Commonwealth Military Cemetery in the world, where we have time to reflect and appreciate the sacrifices made by a generation of young men and women.  We continue to Bruges, a picturesque, medieval town with cobbled lanes, historic churches and fascinating waterways before continuing to Zeebrugge, where our ferry awaits for the overnight crossing to Hull.  Twin low-berth outside cabins.  Dinner and breakfast on board ship.


Wednesday - Scotland

We return to Scotland late afternoon after a wonderful short holiday.
