Saturday - P & O Ferries
We leave from our local departure points and travel Hull where our ferry awaits for the overnight crossing to Hull. Twin low-berth outside cabins. Dinner and breakfast on board ship.
After, breakfast, our rote is east to the German border. We continue south via Koblenz to Imperial Speyer and our overnight hotel. Hotel Loewengarten.
Monday - Bad Reinchenhall
We travel via Munich to the glorious mountain scenery of Bavaria, pausing in charming Ruthpolding, a pretty village nestled in the foothills of the Chiemgau Alps. Soon we arrive in Bad Reinchenhall, our base for six nights. Amber Hotel.
Tuesday - Saturday - Bad Reinchenhall
Traditional villages, lakes, rivers, romantic castles snow-capped mountains and happy, friendly people combine to make Bavaria a constant attraction. Our resort is Bad Reinchenhall, where the mild climate, the brine springs and the charming landscape have lured royalty to the area since 1900. It is an elegant town, boasting a Royal Spa Park, a pedestrian precinct offering many shopping opportunities, a famous salt mine and wonderful confectionery shops. We visit delightful Berchtesgaden and follow the spectacular road to Obersalzberg and the infamous Kehlsteinhaus; The Eagles Nest'. We across the border to nearby Salzburg, city of Mozart and visit Prien on the Chiemsee, Bavaria's largest lake. We enjoy a boat trip to the Herrenchiemsee Island, where we include a visit to The Royal Palace of King Ludwig II, designed as a copy of The Palace of Versailles. Our holiday is designed to highlight picture-postcard Bavaria and the splendour of this beautiful region.
Sunday - Darmstadt
We travel north via Karlsruhe to Darmstadt, a city in the state of Hesse, in the southern part of the Rhine-Main area. Maritim Hotel.
Monday - Rotterdam
This morning we tour the Rhine Valley before continuing to Rotterdam where our ferry awaits for the overnight crossing to Hull. Twin low-berth outside cabins. Dinner and breakfast on board ship.
Tuesday - Scotland
We return to Scotland in the late afternoon after a memorable holiday.
